Beva, a clothing and accessories store for women and children, is officially up and running in the old Banyo space (421 7th Avenue at 14th Street).

Beva Owner In Shop

Co-owner Betty Hernandez (shown above) tells us that everything in the store is handcrafted, including a large number of items that she made herself.

Look for lots of knitted accessories, such as scarves, booties, and hats.

Tooth fairy pillows

And then a few quirkier items, like these tooth fairy pillows made from repurposed sweaters

sock monkey beva

Our favorite find was this ridiculously cute and cuddly sock monkey. He is truly one of the softest stuffed animals we’ve ever seen.

If you haven’t already, be sure to stop by this weekend and welcome Betty and co-owner Eva (Beva is a mashup of their names) to the neighborhood.

Beva is open seven days a week from 11am to 7pm. Credit cards are accepted. Betty said that their website and Facebook page are coming soon, and we’ll be sure to link up to them when they become available.
