Bensonhurst Statue House

Photographer emilydickinsonridesabmx has posted some very interesting pics taken at an undisclosed address right here in Bensonhurst.

Taken last year on Memorial Day, the photos show a cast of colorful characters spanning several decades of vintage Americana.

From flickr:

I don’t know what to say about this strange and wonderful home, which is located on an otherwise quiet and nondescript residential street in Bensonhurst Brooklyn. We were taking a ride through South Brooklyn and decided to take a detour to check out this place and see if the rumors were true. There were and it exceeded expectations.
The outside of the home is covered in very large statues of pop culture icons: Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, Superman, Betty Boop, The Blues Brothers and many others. There were various snarky signs, vintage Brooklyn store signs, animal statues hidden in the trees, and garage full of wonder (sic).

Please go to the Bensonhurst Statue House flickr page and check out the complete photo gallery, you won’t be disappointed!
