Bengali-Led Cultural Celebration In Kensington This Saturday

Just two weeks after the Bengali New Year, the Bangladesh Institute of Performing Arts is sponsoring a multi-cultural extravaganza this Saturday night in Kensington.

BIPA’s Festival of Cultures is being held at PS 230 at 1 Albemarle Road (and McDonald Avenue).

Shahana Hanif is the emcee for Saturday evening’s festivities, which get started at 7pm. Admission is free.

Community members will be treated to performances from cultures spanning the globe:

• Bangladeshi singers: Mamnunul Haq, Shamim Siddique, and Mahbuba Alam Shoma
• Bangladesh Institiute of Performing Arts performers
• Samba Drumming BATALA
• Chinese dancers: Color of Winds
• Sri Lanka dance
• Indian Folk Dance
• Doong contemporary dance
