Undeterred by wind and a bit of rain, Kensington celebrated yesterday.

The Bangladeshi-American Friendship Society and the NYPD 66 Precinct Community Council threw their second annual street fair on Church Avenue Sunday. The fair extended from Beverley Road to its grandstand at East 4th Street.

If the weather was chilly, the audience was enthusiastic as it paraded by tables of food, religious books, jewelry, toys, the usual array of beautiful fabrics, and various booths offering healthcare, insurance and other services.

The 66 Precinct also had a table covered with cautionary literature. Its commanding officer, Captain Kenneth Quick, his Community Affairs staff, and Auxiliary police, were all at the fair.
