Ben Kinglsey Sightings As He Films ‘Learning To Drive’ In Park Slope

For the past week, crews have been around the area filming Learning to Drive, a movie about, well, driving lessons (and then some). Directed by Isabel Coixet, it stars Ben Kingsley and Patricia Clarkson, which screenwriter Sarah Kernochan is clearly excited about:

Learning to Drive film shoot on Park Place

They were set up on Park Place between 6th and 7th Avenues yesterday afternoon, and though we didn’t spot either of the two main leads, we’re pretty sure we saw Jake Webber working with a very young female actress.

A neighbor on the block mentioned she’d seen Kinglsey a couple times, but that we probably wouldn’t recognize him if we saw him. In the film, which is due out in 2014, he plays a Sikh driving instructor (who, in the story from which this was adapted, was Filipino) teaching Clarkson, a middle-aged woman who at 50 is only just getting behind the wheel. Apparently, he’s not too hard to notice, though:
