BED-STUY – A 60-year old man was bludgeoned to death earlier this week after making advances toward a potential love interest he met on a street corner shortly before 2:00 am, said police.

Clifford Williams met the 21-year old that killed him outside a Popeye’s in Bed-Stuy on Wednesday, March 14, sources told the New York Post.

Police said the two men returned to Williams’ apartment on Willoughby Avenue, near Marcus Garvey Boulevard, where he older man’s come-ons angered his young companion. The suspect then hit Williams over the head with a dumbbell, said police.

A family member in the apartment called 911 after hearing the commotion, and Williams was rushed to Woodhull Hospital, where he died, said police.

The suspect remained at the apartment, where he was taken into custody, said police. The investigation into the death remains ongoing.
