Beating the Line at Di Fara
A new way to beat the lines at Di Fara? Buy the place out. From the Brooklyn Daily:
For $30 a head, pizzaphiles can rent the eatery as well as famed pizzaiolo Domenico De Marco on Thursday nights for an evening of nearly all-you-can eat pizza — a dream come true for Di Fara freaks who say a private affair at the Avenue J slice shop is akin to spending a night at the White House.
The renting began simply when a customer asked, and now they’re doing it regularly.
This is very cool but undoubtedly will not last at this price. If this sounds like something you’d like to do, we recommend getting it done as soon as possible. Di Fara isn’t shy about raising the price to the sky when the demand is there — which it obviously is. One customer said she’d pay $100 for the privilege.
A book of tips and tricks to beating the line at Di Fara would probably earn a pretty penny from pizza tourists and Brooklynites baffled with the famous pizzeria. My strategy is to call up (718-258-1367) at noon and walk over. You’ll face no line or wait. Simple enough if you’re actually in the neighborhood at noon and not, you know, at work.
What’s your plan for beating the line in the evening or during the weekend? Prayer or sacrifice?
