Be Proud Foundation To Host Drug Awareness And Prevention Program This Thursday

The Be Proud Foundation, in partnership with police and the Tovushi Kavkazi Jewish Youth Center, will host a  drug awareness and prevention program this Thursday night.

“Drug addiction is very bad in our community. We have to yell and scream and tell our young people not to do this because tomorrow, it could be too late,” said the Be Proud Foundation’s director Raisa Chernina.

Speakers will include the NYPD’s community outreach division officer Yan Gleyzer, and two police officers from the 61st Precinct.

“It is our choice, to never let drugs control our lives. Sport and Education are main keys to a happy and healthy life for you child. We stand for the future of our children,” the Tovushi youth center’s president Zimro Abayev said in a press release.

The event will take place Thursday, October 22, at 6pm in the Tovushi Kavkazi Jewish Youth Center, 2309 Avenue Z, near East 23rd Street.
