Awesome news for people who like buying locally-grown produce and fresh-caught seafood direct from the producer. The Bartel-Pritchard Greenmarket, which has been open on Wednesdays over the summer and fall for years, will for the first time stay running through the winter.

Starting off right, the market will be open on Christmas Eve (Wednesday, December 24) and New Year’s Eve (Wednesday, December 31), so you can drop by for ingredients for your holiday meals and parties.

The market’s vendors include Williams Fruit Farm, which will keep you in stock of apples, potatoes, cider doughnuts, and more; American Seafood, which catches fish out of Long Island; and Bread Alone, the bakery that makes great loaves, pastries, granola, and more.

The market is located just inside the entrance to Prospect Park at 15th Street and Prospect Park West. It’s open every Wednesday, year-round, from 8am-3pm. Check the GrowNYC blog for info on future holiday and weather-related closures throughout the season.
