Bakery Worker Found Dead In Coney Island

A 62-year-old man was found dead in a Coney Island bakery yesterday.

Police say the man was discovered unresponsive in the bathroom of New York Bread (2201 Neptune Avenue) on Monday at approximately 8:36am. When EMS arrived at the scene, the man, whose identity has not been released pending family notification, was pronounced dead.

The New York Daily News reports that the bakery employee was discovered by a co-worker, and that he had a head wound. Surveillance footage showed that the man did not interact with anyone while walking through the hallway, authorities said.

The Medical Examiner will determine the man’s cause of death, and we’ll update as we learn more details.
