Take a closer look at a subway station you may see every day (or that you maybe haven’t seen in a while, or ever). The New York Transit Museum is hosting a tour of the landmarked Avenue H subway house tomorrow, Sunday, June 3:
Preservationists will delight in this tour of a cozy, turn-of-the-century-real estate office, converted to a station house in 1907. Located at Avenue H on the Q line, the structure was awarded landmark status in 2004. We’ll begin with a slideshow of New York City Transit’s recent renovation, and conclude the tour by exploring other local stations of the same era.
