The Friends of Greenwood Playground have put together yet another great lineup of free events for the month of August (and don’t forget about the remaining events this month, including an art event, a dance party, and a toy sale). All events happen at the playground at the corner of Fort Hamilton Parkway and East 5th Street!

Tuesday, August 6, 11am: Singalong with Debbie Dean. Ages 0+, meet in tot lot.

Wednesday, August 7, 10am: Inner Arts Initiative & Play Music present Trash Music: make music out of trash! Ages 2+, meet outside of shed.

Thursday, August 8, 10am: Art of Parenting “creating creatures.” All ages, meet outside of shed.

Friday, August 9, 10am: Storytelling with Robin Bady. All ages, meet at flagpole.

Tuesday, August 13, 10am: Shanaski Kids sing & play. Ages 0+, meet in tot lot.

Wednesday, August 14, 10am: Collograph printing with Private Picassos. Meet outside of shed, pre-registration is required. Please send the following info in an email to greenwoodplayground@gmail.com: student name & age, parent/caregiver name, and parent’s email address.

Thursday, August 15, 10am: Healthy cooking and eating with Amanda from the KWT CSA. Pre-registration is required. Please send the following info in an email to greenwoodplayground@gmail.com: student name & age, parent/caregiver name, and parent’s email address.

Sunday, August 18, 8pm: Family movie night. Movie TBA.

Tuesday, August 20, 10am: Shanaski Kids sing & play. Ages 0+, meet in tot lot.

Wednesday, August 21, 10am: NYC Compost Project composting demonstrate with wiggly worm bin. All ages, meet outside of shed.

Thursday, August 22, 10am: Science fun with Beth the Science Mom. Ages 3-12, meet at chess tables.

Friday, August 23, 4:30pm: Blackfire Percussion, the Brooklyn Steppers Drumline. All ages.

Saturday, August 24, 11am: Dance and songs of Bangladesh presented by MPA Performance, plus henna tattoos. All ages.

Tuesday, August 27, 11am: Swedish Marionettes presents Little Red Riding Hood. All ages.

Wednesday, August 28, 10am: Inner Arts Initiative & Play Music present musical storytelling. Ages 2+, meet outside of shed.
