“Nothing will come of nothing.” So says King Lear, and so says us — if you’re looking to get involved in an upcoming production of the Shakespeare play, you’re going to have to go out and do it, and auditions are coming up in the area starting next week.

The Brooklyn Play Reading Group, in association with the Shakespeare Reading Group, are putting together a staged reading of the play in Manhattan in April, with a goal of performing the full production in parks, school, and libraries in the tri-state area this summer and fall.

The first audition will be held on Wednesday February 25 from 5-9pm on 5th Street in Park Slope, with subsequent auditions to take place in Manhattan. To register for an audition, you must join The Brooklyn Play Reading Group, and then RSVP to the first audition, and make sure you answer the questions.
