Attend the CB6 General Board Meeting & Donate to Relief Effort Tomorrow
The general board meeting for Community Board 6 meets tomorrow, Wednesday, November 14 at 6:30pm at the Old First Reformed Church, 729 Carroll Street. Meetings are open to the public, and are a good way for people to learn about what’s going on in the neighborhood.
Some items on the agenda that will be presented and are relevant to our area include:
• Recommendation to approve an unenclosed sidewalk cafe permit application renewal on behalf of Peperoncino at 72 5th Avenue to permit 10 tables and 20 seats.
• Recommendation to conditionally approve a Certificate of Appropriateness application for new door opening to the terrace at the lot line wall, replacement of the parapet railings, and new pergola at the Montauk Club, 25 8th Avenue.
• Recommendation to conditionally approve a Certificate of Appropriateness for a rear yard addition and modification to the existing front entrance vestibule at this two-story townhouse located at 545 8th Street.
• Recommendation to approve a Certificate of Appropriateness application for the lowering of the cellar and underpinning of 20 Montgomery Place.
If you’re going, why not donate to Hurricane Sandy relief efforts while you’re there? Two Boots has paired up with the Old First Reformed Church to provide hot meals and distribute supplies, which they’re hoping to continue through Saturday – but they need funding to do so. Any donations can be made out to Old First Reformed Church, Attn: Sandy Kitchen Relief, and can be dropped off at the church or mailed to 729 Carroll Street, Brooklyn NY 11215.
