DYKER HEIGHTS – Cops are searching for another man who they believed attempted to rape two women in two separate incidents in a span of three weeks.

On August 31 at around 1:20 a.m., a 41-year-old woman was walking on Battery Avenue and 86th Street when a man approached her from behind. According to cops, he placed her in a chokehold and attempted to sexually assault her before she was able to free herself and leave. The suspect fled and the woman was not physically injured.

On September 16, at around 1:20 a.m., another 41-year-old woman was smoking in a residential building hallway on 94th Street and Fourth Avenue. Cops believe the same man from the previous incident approached her and attempted to sexually assault her while pushing her into the stairwell. The woman struggled but eventually pushed the man away. He fled to an unknown direction.

Cops describe the suspect as a 30-to-40-year-old adult man with short black hair, medium complexion, and a large frame. He was last seen wearing a dark blue colored t-shirt and gray sweatpants.
