Assemblyman Peter Abbate Jr. Joins Seniors For Turkey Day Giveaways

Assemblyman Peter Abbate Jr. has been holding the tradition of bringing turkeys to seniors centers around holiday time since taking office in 1987.

According to Community and Legislative Liaison for his office, this is a tradition which is very important to him.

Abbate visits about 12 senior centers throughout the Bensonhurst, Borough Park and the surrounding areas, including the AMICO Senior Citizens Center (5901 13th Avenue), Regina Pacis Senior Center (1258 65th Street), the Edith and Carl Marks Jewish Community House of Bensonhurst and many more.

“This is something that the Assemblyman really loves to do around the holiday,” said the liaison.
