Artist & Craftsman Supply Opens On 2nd Street
As we stood in the doorway of the new Artist and Craftsman Supply store, located at 307 2nd Street (between 4th and 5th Avenues), three little girls walked in, gazed around the shop with wide-eyed wonder, and immediately declared: “This is amazing. It’s an artist’s wonderland!”
Being certified craftaholics ourselves, we were admittedly a little verklempt, too. Artist & Craftsman Supply, which opened its first store 29 years ago in Maine, is huge, filling up the old warehouse space with materials that should make both budding and professional artists squeal with joy.
Neighbors will find everything from canvases, frames, and pottery supplies…
To papers, paints, screen printing materials…
Brushes galore…
And enough Mod Podge to make all your Pinterest dreams comes true.
As an added bonus, employees tell us that the store will introduce demonstrations and classes over the next couple of months. Those interested, can keep up to date on events by following the Artist & Craftsman Facebook page.

Artist & Craftsman (207-772-7272) is open Mondays through Saturdays, 9am-8pm, and Sundays, 10am-6pm. Credit cards are accepted.
