Artist & Craftsman Supply Opens On 2nd Street

As we stood in the doorway of the new Artist and Craftsman Supply store, located at 307 2nd Street (between 4th and 5th Avenues), three little girls walked in, gazed around the shop with wide-eyed wonder, and immediately declared: “This is amazing. It’s an artist’s wonderland!”

Being certified craftaholics ourselves, we were admittedly a little verklempt, too. Artist & Craftsman Supply, which opened its first store 29 years ago in Maine, is huge, filling up the old warehouse space with materials that should make both budding and professional artists squeal with joy.

Artist & Craftsman (207-772-7272) is open Mondays through Saturdays, 9am-8pm, and Sundays, 10am-6pm. Credit cards are accepted.
