Craft and Basketball Workshops At Dome Playground This Week

Dome_calendar2016_onepage_webUpcycle your used plastic bottles and cardboard boxes into flower bouquets this Sunday May 22nd, from 11am to 2pm, during the Playground Art Workshop at Kensington’s Dome Playground.

Dome Playground is located at 38th Street and Dahill Road.

What is Upcycling? According to Google, upcycling “reuses (discarded objects or material) in such a way as to create a product of a higher quality or value than the original.”

Artist Lisa Alvarez, whose work is pictured here, will show kids how to make these cardboard flower bouquets, and Artist Lina Montoya will help transform plastic bottles into flowers. The projects are perfect for artists of all ages—adults included.

Return to Dome Playground on Thursday afternoon, May 26, for free basketball clinics for boys and girls, and men and women, separately.

The clinic will run from 3 to 5pm, and will be taught by members of the St. John’s University and Brooklyn College basketball teams.
