Area Kids On 5th Avenue To Become Area Yoga
The north end of 5th Avenue is getting a new yoga studio this spring.
Area Kids, the children’s clothing and toy store with several locations in the area, has closed its shop at 45 5th Avenue, on the corner of Bergen, and the writing on the window says the space will be converted into one of the company’s Area Yoga studios, with an anticipated opening date of March 1.
On their Facebook page, they shared a photo of the space, above, which is just in the beginning stages of renovations.
Owned by Loretta Gendville, the small Area empire spans Area Kids, Area Kicks & Cuts, and Area Yoga, and Area Spa.
Area Yoga was launched in 2000, and they currently have locations in Carroll Gardens and Brooklyn Heights. We’ve reached out and are waiting to hear back about details on the Park Slope location, but if it’s like the others, expect a range of classes including prenatal and restorative yoga, and class packages for new students that run 5 for $35, 10 for $70, or a month of unlimited classes for $60.
