A’Putia Retail Space Closed On 5th Avenue, Looking For Another Location
The storefront at 179 5th Avenue, between Lincoln and Berkeley, just can’t seem to catch a break. It went from Caramello to Cafe Sant Edesia to A’Putia in just a couple months at the end of last year, and now sadly A’Putia has closed.
The cafe’s last day in this location was yesterday, and owner Giacomo d’Alessandro tells us it was because of an “unexpected problem with our major partner and leaseholder.” He adds that they’re “searching for a new retail location where we can continue to present our original Sicilian pastries.”
We’ll miss stopping in for an occasional cannoli, and hope they’re able to find a new place in the neighborhood.
