Apply Now To Join Your Local Community Board – Deadline Is This Sunday
CB 14

Interested in getting more involved in your local community government? The deadline to apply to serve on your local Community Board, CB 14, is coming up fast!

Community Boards meet monthly (you can read our coverage of Monday’s meeting here) and discuss everything from overflowing trash bins to potholes and liquor license renewals to city plans to reroute traffic. The local boards don’t have an official say, but they do carry the power of public opinion and can make recommendations to city agencies.

For the first time, anyone 16 years old or older can also apply, as long as they live within CB 14’s coverage area, which covers such areas as Beverley Square East and West, Caton Park, Ditmas Park, Midwood, Prospect Park South, and parts of Kensington. You can see the full list of neighborhoods here.

The deadline for CB 14 applications — which must be notarized and submitted to Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams’ office at Borough Hall — is this coming Sunday, February 15.

For more information about Community Boards please visit here. Visit the Brooklyn Borough President’s website and download the Community Board Application here. Take the hour to fill it out and send it in.
