The popular 5th Avenue restaurant Aperitivo has closed, and a new restaurant is already slated to take over next month.

Owners announced the sale of the restaurant on Facebook earlier this week, noting that their sister location, 7th Avenue’s Sotto Voce, will remain open.

“We broke bread together, clinked glasses and became a part of each other’s lives over the course of seven wonderful years,” they wrote. “It was not a decision we took lightly; after much discussion, we felt that we should concentrate on Sotto Voce’s brand and make it grow.”

The space, which is located at 279 5th Ave on the corner of 1st St, won’t stay vacant for long. Henri on 5th, a seasonal, French/German/Asian-inspired venture from new owner Binh Douglas will be opening in mid-December, reports Here’s Park Slope.

They’ve got a peek at the bar menu, which features items like sharable grilled cheese “soldiers,” salads, sliders, truffle fries, banh me tacos, and soups that are served in steins, and note that the space is aiming to be fun, affordable place for neighbors to kick back in.
