And Now, A Little Wind & Rain

This winter weather keeps throwing us curveballs, doesn’t it? Here are some things to know today while you’re struggling through the slush:

Garbage and recycling collection is delayed on Wednesday, as workers continue snow removal operations around the city. DSNY asks residents to remove any snow from garbage that is already out, and to make sure that bags are placed in a spot that is “accessible to sanitation workers.”

• Same old suspensions for alternate side parking. All meters are still in effect, though, so don’t forget to feed the Muni.

• If your street is still looking a little rough, click here to see where those plows are.

• NYC Public schools are open, but field trips have been cancelled for Wednesday.

• The MTA says that the city’s trains are “near normal,” but there are a handful of signal problems causing headaches on the 1, 2, 3, 5, G, N and Q lines. Be sure to give yourself some extra travel time getting around, and check MTA.info for the latest updates.

Also, be careful with all this wind! “I just saw an awning on CIA between Ditmas and 18th Ave fall,” a neighbor just wrote in to say. “If the middle school aged girl walking by it had been a half step quicker in her stride, we would have one less resident of Ditmas Park.”

Bundle up, and know there are only (?) 43 days left until the official start of spring.
