‘American Idol’ Competition For Seniors Coming To Xaverian
Senator Marty Golden is putting out the casting call for all you swinging, singing seniors who would like to compete in an American Idol-style talent contest. The winner of Brooklyn’s Fifth Senior Idol contest will even win a sweet $500 prize.
And no, this isn’t anything like the beauty pageant on Russian Dolls.
The show will include as emcee, the man who may have hosted the first television talk show, radio and TV personality Joe “King of Nostalgia” Franklin. There will also be a surprise celebrity judge.
Auditions will be Saturday, September 10, at 10 a.m. in Xaverian High School (7100 shore Road).
Meanwhile, it all goes down Saturday, October 1, at 8 p.m. in Xaverian.
In order to participate, you must be over 50 years young and a Brooklyn resident.
