UPDATE: Alternate Side Parking Rules Back in Effect Tomorrow

UPDATE 5:30pm: Nevermind! Looks like CB6 managed to get the Department of Sanitation to make a fix, according to Council Member Brad Lander:

Good news for those tired of parking tickets: alternate side of the street parking has been suspended indefinitely in Park Slope. 15th Street to Flatbush, PPW to the East River, no one has to go to work late or get up early because the car is on the wrong side of the street. The suspension will facilitate ongoing storm recovery efforts, and is also in effect in Gowanus, Red Hook, southern Brooklyn, and the Rockaways.

Bad news for those who want street sweeping: the suspension means that there will still be no street cleaning. The areas that are suspended are broken into Community Board districts, so as part of CB6, which encompasses some hard-hit areas, Park Slope gets included. CB6 District Manager Craig Hammerman told the Daily News that the neighborhood is “hopping mad about it.”

Do you think our streets can wait a while longer before they get cleaned, or are things starting to get messy?
