All About The Avenue C Plaza: Join Community To Discuss The New Plaza At Two Upcoming Meetings
The proposed plans and schedule for the forthcoming Avenue C/McDonald Avenue Plaza are up for public review at two meetings this Wednesday and Thursday.
The Kensington Stewards and Neighborhood Plaza Partnership, the Plaza’s sponsors, are hosting a meeting on Thursday, October 22 meeting at PS 179, 202 Avenue C, at 6:30pm to present the artist and her artwork, “Pond Island,” to neighbors. If you live nearby the proposed new plaza, drop by and speak up. Your opinion matters.
The meeting is your chance to meet Anney Fresh Ozar, the artist who designed the winning proposal (below) for the new plaza’s painted floor, to see the artwork, ask questions, hear what your neighbors think, and find out what the next steps are for NYC DOT to open the completed plaza to the public.
Interested in learning more about the plaza and ongoing projects in Kensington? Come to a meeting on Wednesday, October 21 at 6:30pm at PS 230 Lower School, 425 McDonald Avenue, hosted by the Kensington Stewards.
The Stewards welcome members of the community to come hear a discussion with the DOT about the Avenue C plaza project timeline and the necessary steps for finishing the project.
The Kensington Stewards are the local group responsible for getting and maintaining the Plaza in front of Walgreens, on Church Avenue. Along with the Neighborhood Plaza Partnership, a division of the Metro Hort Society, and Councilman Brad Lander, the Stewards will be working to guide the new plaza toward its opening and arranging for activities once it arrives.
