Albemarle Road To Get Speed Bumps & Other Safety Improvements From DOT
Albemarle-McDonald-2

Albemarle Road from McDonald to Ocean Avenue, a stretch that’s panicked neighbors (or worse, if they’ve been involved in accidents) for years, is finally getting some safety improvements thanks to the Albemarle Neighborhood Association, Community Board 12, Councilmember Brad Lander, and other neighbors, says The Brooklyn Daily Eagle.

Safety measures along the stretch will include “No Standing” signs to increase visibility (which have already been installed), as well as two speed bumps and narrowed lanes to slow vehicles.  The improvements are aimed at reducing the number of car accidents on the road–where in 2013, the paper says, there have been 10 accidents.

Want to learn more about the changes coming to Albemarle? Attend the next Community Board 12 meeting, to be held at the Amico Senior Center (5901 13th Avenue on the corner of 59th Street, 3rd floor) on Tuesday, January 28 at 7pm.
