When you hear the word “Albany,” what’s the first thing that comes to mind? How closely do you follow state politics? Do you think that our state senators and assemblymembers have the best interests of our community at heart?

The Central Brooklyn Independent Democrats (CBID) are hosting a forum in Park Slope tonight addressing “Corruption in Albany and How to Fight It.” This should be a fascinating conversation, especially given the emergence of “outsider” candidates in this year’s presidential election.

The panelists at tonight’s forum are state Assembly Member Jim Brennan, Prudence Katz of Common Cause, and Wendy Weiser of the Brennan Center for Justice.

Robert Carroll, of the CBID, will be moderating the forum.

[Carroll is also running for the position of Democratic District Leader of the 44th Assembly District. As dry as this title sounds, the race is important because the position has a big impact on the lives of Brooklynites.]

Tonight’s forum is being held in the Sanctuary of Park Slope Methodist Church, 410 6th Avenue (and 8th Street), from 7 to 9pm.
