A “for rent” sign is up in Alaar Threading Salon, a hair removal place that has gotten mixed reviews on Yelp, at 435 9th Street on the corner of 7th Avenue. If you’re looking for a high-traffic spot for your business — it’s right next to the subway entrance — contact Berman Realty at 718-638-8888.

If Alaar closes, it doesn’t leave us without any alternatives. There are numerous salons that do threading and waxing — almost too many. The chain Perfect Brows (139 7th Ave, 2nd Fl) gets pretty good reviews for its $8 eyebrow threading and their frequent shoppers discount card, but people aren’t as happy with the waxing. Venelle Salon & Spa (62 7th Ave) is top-ranked for waxing, but can be a bit pricey. But those are only two of the several places in the area.
