Update 2:10pm: DNAInfo says the victim has retracted his initial statement to police, instead admitting to having shot himself in the hand at a friend’s home.

A teenager is at the Brooklyn Hospital Center following a shooting yesterday afternoon outside MS 113 Ronald Edmonds Learning Center, according to The New York Daily News.

The 16-year-old was reportedly playing basketball on the school’s playground (Adelphi Street between Dekalb and Lafayette Avenues) around 4pm when, he later told police, he heard a gunshot and felt a pain in his hand.

Thankfully, the victim is now in stable condition. We will update as we learn more.
