After a two month delay, Wahlburgers, the fast food franchise owned by Hollywood stars Donnie and Mark Wahlberg and their chef brother Paul, opened in Coney Island Monday.

The new burger joint, located across the street from the original Nathan’s Famous on Stillwell Avenue, is part of an aggressive expansion by the franchise, which is being documented by an A&E reality show. The Coney Island location was originally scheduled to open in May, but the launch date was postponed due to pending permits from the Department of Buildings, the Daily News reports.

Monday’s opening was first revealed by Coney Island Blog, which reported that Paul announced the opening last week during a staff meeting.

The 6,000-square foot space offers rooftop seating with a view of the boardwalk and Wonder Wheel, according to the Daily News. The restaurant also has a walkup window and an upstairs bar.

The menu offers some intriguing options, including The Melt — a burger made with pickles, caramelized onions, bacon, mustard, and “government cheese.” There’s also Jenn’s Chicken Sandwich, named after Donnie’s wife Jenny McCarthy, which comes with chicken breast, honey-garlic mayo, and onions. You can also find some New York flavor in their “dirty water-style” House Dog.

The franchise also promised the Daily News ingredients will be purchased from New York vendors, including Pat LaFrieda meat, and vegetables will be sourced locally.
