Affordable Housing Lottery Alert: Application Launched For 29 Units In New Clinton Hill Building

An affordable housing lottery for 29 units in a newly constructed building in Clinton Hill is currently accepting applications.

The apartments, which are in the eight-story building on 504 Myrtle Avenue (between Ryerson Street and Grand Avenue), are available to renters with an income between $30,206 to $54,360, with an average size of 736 square feet apiece.

The ground floor will have 20,304 square feet dedicated to retail space.

The building will also have an array of amenities, which include a 95-car parking garage, a fitness center, and an outdoor terrace on the second floor.

This new building is a part of a small wave of development by Madison Realty Capital, which also developed 490 Myrtle Avenue which houses a Key Food Supermarket and the Pratt Station Post Office that once stood on 540 Myrtle Avenue.

Applicants have until February 1st, 2017, and can apply online via NYC Housing Connect or by sending a self-addressed envelope to 504 Myrtle Avenue c/o Breaking Ground, PO Box 760, New York, NY 10018. However, preference for half of the affordable apartments will go to residents of Brooklyn’s Community Board 2 (Boerum Hill, Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn Navy Yard, Clinton Hill, Downtown Brooklyn, DUMBO, Fort Greene).

A percentage of units are set aside for Mobility-disabled vision or hearing-disabled applicants.
