Affordable Housing Lotteries in Bed-Stuy & Crown Heights
BED-STUY/CROWN HEIGHTS – Three affordable housing lotteries are currently open—two in Crown Heights and one in Bedford-Stuyvesant. See below for details.
901 Myrtle Avenue, Bed-Stuy – The lottery launched last Thursday for 7 one-bedroom units at a building currently under construction in Bed-Stuy between Marcy and Tompkins Avenues.
The affordable units are part of a seven-story building with 30 units in total, according to Naked Apartments. The one-bedrooms are listed at $1,074 a month and include in-unit washer/dryers.
Applicants should earn 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI). Annual household income requirements are $36,823 – $43,860 for a single applicant and $36,823. – $50,100 for couples.
Preference will be given to current residents of Brooklyn Community Board 3 (Bed-Stuy) and municipal employees. A percentage of units will be set aside for applicants with mobility (5%) and vision/hearing (2%) disabilities.

12 Ford Street, Crown Heights – The lottery launched last Tuesday for 10 affordable units at this building located between Carroll and Crown Streets in Crown Heights.
The units are part of a seven-story building with a total of 50 units, according to Street Easy. The building features two studio apartments at $822 a month; 3 one-bedrooms at $947 a month; and five two-bedrooms at $1,070. Amenities include a laundry room, bike room, and parking for additional fees.
Applicants should earn 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI). See the annual household income requirements below.
Preference will be given to current residents of Brooklyn Community Board 9 (Southern Crown Heights, Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, portions of North Flatbush, and Wingate) and municipal employees. A percentage of units will be set aside for applicants with mobility (5%) and vision/hearing (2%) disabilities.

1511 Bedford Avenue, Crown Heights – And finally, the lottery launched in late June for 29 affordable units in this building located in northern Crown Heights between St. Johns and Lincoln Place.
The ten-story, 114-unit building is located on the site of the former Fox Savoy Theatre which was demolished four years ago, according to 6sqft.
The available units include eight studios at $816 a month; seven one-bedrooms at $877 a month; and 14 two-bedrooms at $1,064 a month. Amenities include a roof deck and gym. Parking, bike storage, and a recreation room are also available for additional fees.
