Though Sean Casey Animal Rescue is easily one of the most wonderful places in Brooklyn, no dog should have to spend too much time there, when the alternative is to be welcomed into a happy home by a loving family. Which is why someone should adopt Regina the beautiful Pibble/Shepherd mix!

Regina has spent most of her life at the shelter, and as a two-year resident, she’s been there longer than any of the other dogs currently up for adoption. At first aloof and distant with people, the staff at Sean Casey has put a lot of work into making sure she’d grow into the friendly, comfortable dog she has since become.

“This little girl has blossomed into a beautiful dog, and now all she is missing is her forever family,” they say.

Regina knows her basic commands and is social with new people — “she will even give kisses and look at you in your face!” they report — and though she’s not great around small fluffy dogs or cats (“she likes them too much”), she walks well with a harness and is good with dogs her own size.

Interested in meeting her to see if she’s a good match for your family? Visit her at their Sunset Park shelter, located at 551 39th Street, between 5th and 6th Avenues (a quick trip on the subway to 36th St), which is open daily from 11am-7pm. For more info, call 347-599-1500.
