Adoptable Pet Of The Week: Baby The Dog
There’s something extra wonderful about adopting an older dog — she’s not going to require the work that a puppy will, and we kind of think she’ll know and appreciate that though many people are on the hunt for a young pup, you were kind enough to give her a chance. And if any dog is really going to appreciate it, it’s Baby.
Baby is a sweet, very playful 7-year-old pit bull mix who showed up at Sean Casey Animal Rescue three years ago after being abandoned in a garbage can in the Rockaways. She was adopted, and they thought she was in her forever home, but she was recently dumped at the city shelter and thankfully made her way back to Sean Casey.
“She knows simple commands and is one of the sweetest girls at the shelter,” they write. “Baby is definitely a staff and volunteer favorite!”
They note she’ll do best in a home without small animals.
If you’d like to give this sweet girl the real forever home she deserves, you can find her at the Sunset Park shelter, located at 551 39th Street, between 5th and 6th Avenues (a quick trip on the subway to 36th St), or you can call 347-599-1500 for more info.
