Adelynn’s Opens in Newkirk Ave Space That Had a Fire Earlier This Year
Nearly three months after a fire that damaged this storefront and the adjacent nail salon, a new restaurant called Adelynn’s Restaurant & Grill has opened at 1610 Newkirk Avenue, between E 16th and E 17th Streets.
We had noticed they were working on it, along with the facade improvements to a strip of buildings on that blocks, but yesterday neighbor Bonnie saw that it’s now open. She sent these photos of the menu outside, which looks to be a mix of Caribbean (goat, stew chicken) and Mexican (tacos and burritos). Has anyone tried it out yet?
Most recently the space was La Nueva Union #2 (no relation to the Cortelyou Road bakery), and before that it was Rancho Alegre. We’re looking forward to trying it, and we hope they have better luck than the last couple of places!
