Additional Donation Drop-Offs: Libraries and Brown Harris Stevens

If you can drop off more supplies, more supplies are needed in the NYC areas that were hit hard by Hurricane Sandy. Here are a few more places collecting donations.

Brooklyn Public Libraries

Starting today and going through Friday, November 23, the Park Slope Library, the Central Library, and several other locations around Brooklyn are collecting supplies for Coney Island and Red Hook.

Most needed items are: Bottled water, non-perishable foods (baby formula, canned foods), flashlights, batteries of all sizes, new blankets (comforters/sleeping bags), new towels and wash cloths, new unopened packages of socks, thermals & underwear, hygiene Products (baby wipes, diapers, & sanitary napkins), toiletries (deodorant, disposable wipes, razors, shaving cream soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, lotion, antibacterial hand sanitizer), contractor garbage bags & heavy-duty extension cords, and cleaning supplies (mops, brooms, wipes, sprays, gloves).

Brown Harris Stevens, 100 7th Avenue

There’s a toiletries drop off location at Brown Harris Stevens, 100 7th Avenue, between Garfield and Carroll. Collections are being accepted from now until Friday at 5pm.

Most needed items are: Park Slope Parents says toiletries are greatly needed at the Armory, particularly in smaller, travel sizes. Because most of the folks in the shelter are older and its dry, they particularly need moisturizer. But new toiletries of all kinds are needed.
