Add A Furry Member To Your Family At Prospect Park’s Adoptapalooza This Saturday, August 1
Get ready to find your new best furry friend at Prospect Park’s Adoptapalooza this Saturday, August 1.
Sponsored by the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals, the event will run from 11am-5pm, rain or shine, at Prospect Park’s Bartel-Pritchard Square, located at Prospect Park Southwest and 15th Street. The adoption fair is open to everyone and will feature more than 150 wonderful dogs, cats and rabbits from many area animal rescue organizations (including our community’s Sean Casey Animal Rescue).
To see some of the dogs that will be there, you can go here, and to see the cats, go here.
All the animals available for adoption have been spayed or neutered and vaccinated. Adoption fees will vary by organization.
You’ll also be able to do a number of other activities at the fair, including:
- Purchase a dog license (required by law in NYC) from the city’s Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
- Learn how to prepare yourself and your pets for emergencies from representatives from New York City Office of Emergency Management/ Ready New York.
- Take home free pet stuff, including pet food samples, 30 days of complimentary pet insurance from PetFirst Pet Insurance, free photos from the fair’s photo booth, free pet ID tags, and more.
