A Stolen Bike, Broken Car Windows, And More Recent Crimes

The most recently available CompStat report for the 70th Precinct, pictured above, shows that in the first week of 2013, most of the crimes involved thefts – 13 incidents of grand larceny and 29 incidents of petit larceny. That trend has continued through the month, from the reports we’ve heard:

• A neighbor tells us her bike was stolen from outside of Lark on Church Ave yesterday, January 17, at some point while she was sitting inside the cafe for a couple of hours. Here’s what it looks like.

• Another neighbor reports that a number of cars parked on Cortelyou between E 8th and E 7th Streets had their passenger side windows smashed and were burglarized. She spotted them early on morning the morning of January 17.

• The Tacos Mexico truck that parks on Cortelyou and E 16th St was stolen from its parking spot on Friday, January 14.

• Two suspects are wanted in connection with an armed robbery in an elevator that occurred on January 9.

• A home on Westminster Road was burglarized on January 7.

If you’ve been the victim of the crime, after you’ve reported it to the police, please send us an email at ditmasparkcorner@gmail.com and we’ll let the neighborhood know.
