A Message From Hummus Garden’s Julie Atiae, Post-Break In
Hummus Garden, the new mediterranean restaurant at 3021 Fort Hamilton Parkway (between E 2nd and E 3rd Streets) that opened about a month ago, has already faced a break in–but owner Julie Atiae says they’re no worse for wear.
The burglary occurred before opening on Monday with the robber(s) gaining access by breaking the restaurant’s door. Julie says they took some loose change, and the door was quickly repaired and security improved.
Julie says so many people have reached out in the aftermath of the incident, it really makes her appreciate living and working in Kensington.
In other news, the restaurant has launched a website with winter hours (12-10pm Monday-Thursday, 12-4pm Friday, 7-11pm Saturday, and 11am-9pm Sunday), contact info, and more, as well as a full menu. For orders or to make a reservation, call 718-686-1011.
We wish Julie, Avi, and the team the best following a troubling incident so early on in their establishment. If you’re stumped on what to do for lunch or dinner this weekend, go give them some love.
