A Look at the Participatory Budgeting Expo
If you didn’t get a chance to make it there, here are a few images of the action at Thursday night’s Participatory Budgeting Expo held at the Park Slope Library, 431 6th Avenue.
Michelle Proffit, a Kensington resident, listens to an expo attendee while representing Proposition “I”: Groundswell Community Mural Project which aims to upgrade the community organization’s server and computer equipment – $50,000.
Councilmember Brad Lander stops by the booth for Ballot Proposition “J”: 3rd St Green Corridor in Gowanus which would install 10 bioswale/enhanced street tree pits that would improve storm drainage and add shade and beauty from Bond Street to 3rd Avenue – $170,000.
Beth Slade (right) observes traffic at her booth – Proposition “V”: Kensington Triangle Park Improvements which would add park benches, planters, and a mosaic to a much needed green space at Church Ave and 35th Street – $330,000.
Julie Bero shows off a Google Map her committee has installed to solicit feedback from the constituency at-large for Ballot Proposition “U”: Install four highly-visible security cameras in each of the district’s four police precincts, especially near Prospect Park.
