A Bit Of Bushwick In Park Slope Next Month At Ground Floor Gallery

Art by Paul Behnke via Ground Floor Gallery

You don’t have to head out to Bushwick to see some of its artists — though once you check out this upcoming local exhibition, you may want to.

Ground Floor Gallery, located at 343 5th Street, just off 5th Avenue, is once again hosting its annual tribute to that neighborhood with Hello Again, Bushwick, where they’ll be featuring the work of three Bushwick-based artists — Paul Behnke, MaryKate Maher, and Evan Venegas — who “experiment with color, form, and/or abstraction through painting and sculpture.”

The show opens with a reception on Friday, May 29 from 6-8:30pm, and then it will be on view through Sunday, June 21.

If you’re struck by their work and you’re interested in seeing more — from some of them, or from their neighbors — you may want to check out the ninth annual Bushwick Open Studios, coming up June 5-7. In addition to the launch party and other events, the main draw is, of course, the opportunity to see work by local artists. Most studios are open that Saturday and Sunday from 12-7pm, but check out the map for details.
