9 Things To Do In Park Slope This Weekend
The weather may not be giving us the best start to this weekend, but we’re just happy it’s not snowing for once, so get out and enjoy it before it possibly snows again! Here’s a recap of some of the events to check out in the neighborhood today and tomorrow, from a couple of fun events for the family at local schools, to a birdwatching tour, to a look at classic cars. PS 321 Spring Carnival

Where: PS 321, 180 7th Avenue
What: Celebrate the beginning of spring with bouncy castles, games, crafts, food, face painting, a magic show, and more.
How much: Free!
PS 282 Annual Community Fair
When: Saturday, March 22, 10am-6pm
Where: PS 282, 180 6th Avenue
What: Support the Park Slope School and enjoy music, local vendors, tasty treats, and free kids activities. Admission includes five free raffle tickets for a chance to win a month of free martial arts classes, an iPod mini shuffle, a BJ’s gift card, a NY Kids Club class, and more.
How much: $7, available in advance
Lenny’s Garage Tour
When: Saturday, March 22, 11am-2pm
Where: Lenny’s Garage, 304 Douglass Street
What: If you’ve got a kid who’s a fan of all things auto, stop by for the Brooklyn Free School‘s fundraiser. At noon, there will be a talk about the collection.
How much: Suggested donations are $10 for adults, $5 for kids, and anyone under 12 is free (kids must be accompanied by an adult). All proceeds go to support the school.
Introduction To Bird Watching
When: Saturday, March 22, 1pm
Where: Meet at Audubon Center in Prospect Park
What: Members of the Brooklyn Bird Club will introduce you to some of the birds that are in the park in spring.

The Hey-Ya Brothers

What: A show of slapstick, circus skills, magic, and music, The Hey-Ya Brothers are sure to provide a ton of laughs.

What: The the youngest old-school blues guitarist and singer you’ve ever seen is in the middle of a month-long residency here, so catch her while you can!

Classic Car Gala
When: Saturday, March 22, 7-10pm
Where: Lenny’s Garage, 304 Douglass Street
What: Preserve Park Slope is hosting a gala to support their advocacy and legal campaign for responsible development in the neighborhood. In addition to seeing all the cool cars, there will be music, food, and beverages, and they’re encouraging attendees to get dolled up in vintage fashion.
How much: Tickets are $50 and are available in advance
Sing Along With Miss Amy
When: Sunday, March 23, 10am
Where: Two Moon Art House & Cafe, 315 4th Avenue
What: Playing original and well-known songs on guitar, ukulele, and percussive things, singing stories with puppets and bubbles, Amy brings her quirky style to the sing along arena.

Retha Powers: Black Women’s Voices From Ancient Times To Now

What: In honor of Women’s History Month, he editor of Bartlett’s Familiar Black Quotations shares sayings from women of African descent.
