Welcome to the weekend, and some much more pleasant temperatures than we had for much of the past week! Here’s a recap of some of the fun events happening in the neighborhood today and tomorrow, from a circus sideshow to a ’50s rockabilly party to an annual holiday parade. Now get out there and enjoy the weather and something fun!

Captain Jam And FunikiJam: Celebration Of Ireland!
When: Saturday, March 15, 1pm
Where: Central Library, Dweck Center, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: A fun, musical show that will encourage children’s participation with musical exploration through rhythm, dance, singing, instrument play, and stories.
How much: Free!

Box!: Castles, Kitchens, And Other Cardboard Creations For Kids
When: Saturday, March 15, 2pm
Where: Barnes & Noble, 267 7th Avenue
What: Ahh, the wonderful fascination with the cardboard box over what’s inside it. That’s the focus of this fun book by Noel MacNeal, who will be on hand to guide kids and parents through fun crafts that can be done with all kinds of cardboard, from boxes to paper towel rolls and beyond.
How much: Free!

Bindlestiff Family Cirkus Cabaret
When: Saturday, March 15 & Sunday, March 16 at 3pm
Where: Brooklyn Lyceum, 227 4th Avenue
What: The wacky and wild show featuring the best in circus, sideshow, vaudeville, burlesque, and variety is doing two-part run — shows in the evening are for adults only, and these two matinees, which are appropriate for all ages.
How much: $12 in advance, $15 at the door

Fifties-Inspired Store Party
When: Saturday, March 15, 6-9pm
Where: Goorin Bros., 195B 5th Avenue
What: The folks from Goorin Bros. and Enz’s are throwing a 1950s bash, with free Tom Collins, snacks, live rockabilly tunes from The Buzzards, and a spring dress preview at up to 40% off.
How much: Free!

Crazy $ince Da 90$
When: Saturday, March 15, 10pm
Where: Union Hall, 702 Union Street
What: Dust off your Hammer pants and get ready to dance to some of your favorite ’90s jams.
How much: Free with RSVP before 11pm, $5 after

Brooklyn St. Patrick’s Day Parade
When: Sunday, March 16, 1pm
Where: The route starts at 15th St and Prospect Park West, travels down 15th St to 7th Ave, along 7th Ave to Garfield Pl, up Garfield Pl to PPW, and then back along that to 15th St.
What: The 39th annual parade celebrates all that is Irish, as bands, bag pipes, step dancers, and more take to the streets. Prior to the parade’s start, a re-dedication ceremony to 9/11 heroes and victims will take place in Bartel-Pritchard Square at 12:45pm.

Ready, Set, Kindergarten!
When: Sunday, March 16, 2:30pm
Where: Central Library, Youth Wing, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: Families with kids ages 3-5 will enjoy stories and activities designed to encourage the development of early learning skills, helping you and your child get ready for school. Families will receive free materials to continue the learning and fun at home.
How much: Free!

Recycled Fashion Show
When: Sunday, March 16, 4pm
Where: Spoke the Hub at The Gowanus Arts Building, 295 Douglass Street
What: Enjoy tea, cookies, and a catwalk featuring funky re-fashioned outfits. The clothing goes on sale right after the show, and all proceeds from the event go to supporting Spoke the Hub’s free outdoor spring and summer programs in local community gardens.
How much: $20 adults, $10 students & seniors in advance; $25 adults, $15 students & seniors at the door

Film Screening: Viramundo
When: Sunday, March 16, 4pm
Where: Barbes, 376 9th Street
What: See the documentary that follows musician Gilberto Gil as he embarks on a new kind of world tour through the southern hemisphere.
How much: $5 suggested donation
