Crime rates continued their downward trend in the 88th Precinct, with incident reports in all major categories falling compared to the previous week and this week last year.

Murders and rapes remained at zero, and grand larcenies also stayed at 3 reports compared to the first week in June.

Meanwhile, robberies went from 7 to 4, felony assaults from 3 to 2, burglaries from 3 to 1, and auto thefts from 1 to 0. Transit and housing crimes also both fell from 1 to 0, and misdemeanor assaults went from 6 to 5.

The only increase was seen in petit larcenies, from 16 to 17 reports this week.

The next 88th Precinct Community Council meeting will be in SEPTEMBER.

CompStat reports are produced by the New York Police Department on a weekly basis. We publish the week’s statistics for the 88th Precinct reports every week. The 88th Precinct is the police command that oversees Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.
