88th Precinct Crime Statistics: Assaults Plummet, No Shootings, But A Few More Robberies And Burglaries

Crime fell markedly over the week of May 18-24 in most categories, compared to both the previous week and, in some cases, the same period last year.

Rape fell from 1 to 0 incident, felony assault from 5 to 3, transit from 3 to 0, housing from 5 to 1, petit larceny from 17 to 16, misdemeanor assault from 10 to 3, and shootings from 1 to 0.

Meanwhile, grand larcenies (6) and auto thefts (1) maintained the same number of incidents week to week.

Increases were seen in robberies (from 1 to 2) and burglaries (from 1 to 3).

The next 88th Precinct Community Council meeting is Tuesday, June 16 at 7pm at the French Speaking Baptist Church, entrance at Vanderbilt and Willoughby Avenues.
