After last week’s increases across the board in all crime categories, reports balanced out a bit, with increases and decreases this week.

In rising crime, Fort Greene and Clinton Hill had one reported rape this week (versus zero last week), felony assaults rose from 1 to 7, misdemeanor assaults went from 4 to 8, and there was a shooting incident on April 13 that injured one teen in the leg outside the McDonald’s on Flatbush Avenue off DeKalb Avenue.

On the other hand, robberies dropped from 5 to 1, burglaries from 4 to 2, grand larcenies from 7 to 6, and auto thefts from 4 to 2. Transit crimes also fell to zero from two last week, and petit larcenies inched down from 12 to 10.

Staying the same were housing crimes at two incidents a week, and misdemeanor sex crimes at one incident.

The next 88th Precinct Community Council meeting is Tuesday, May 19 at 7pm at the French Speaking Baptist Church, entrance at Vanderbilt and Willoughby Avenues.

CompStat reports are produced by the New York Police Department on a weekly basis. We publish the week’s statistics for the 88th Precinct reports every week. The 88th Precinct is the police command that oversees Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.
