This Week’s Events: Community Board Meeting, Happy Hour, Arts & Crafts, And More
Here is our weekly roundup of events and goings on around the neighborhood this week. You can find a complete list in our events calendar. We also encourage everyone to add events to the calendar to help get the word out!
Parent’s Happy Hour
When: Weeknights, 5pm-7pm
Where: Werkstatt, 509 Coney Island Ave
What: Parents, bring your kids to dinner between 5 pm to 7 pm, weeknights, and enjoy happy hour prices on draft beer and wine! $5 for all draft beer and yummy draft wines (white, red AND rose!). Family friendly atmosphere and menu.
Dinner & Martini Party at Anyway Cafe
When: Tuesday, November 29. 5pm-2am
Where: 1602 Gravesend Neck Rd
What: Ladies enjoy $4 martinis all night long. Everyone can enjoy the live music at Anyway Cafe.
Little Hands Crafts
When: Tuesday, November 29. 11:45am-12pm
Where: Sheepshead Bay Library, 2636 East 14 St
What: Bring your kids (up to age 5) to play with other children and make masterpieces in arts & crafts!
Community Board 15 Meeting
When: Tuesday, November 29, 7pm
Where: Kingsborough Community College, 2001 Oriental Blvd
What: Get involved and stay aware of what is happening in the neighborhood. This month’s agenda includes the discussion of a possible new group home in Madison, as well as presentations from the Environmental Protection and Sanitation Committee and the Public Safety Committee.
Ladies Night at Anyway Cafe
When: Wednesday, November 30. 5pm-2am
Where: 1602 Gravesend Neck Rd, or 111 Oriental Blvd
What: Ladies at tables of 2 people or more get a complimentary bottle of champagne.
Computer Basics Class
When: Wednesday, November 30. 11am-12pm.
Where: Sheepshead Bay Library, 2636 East 14 St
What: Learn computer basics at the library. Even if you’re completely new to computers, or just need fine tuning, you will get something out of this class.
Chess Workshop at the Library
When: Thursday, December 1, 4pm-5pm
Where: Sheepshead Bay Library, 2636 East 14 St
What: All ages are welcome to come to the library to learn how to play chess!
Knitting & Crocheting Club
When: Friday, December 1. 1pm-2pm
Where: Sheepshead Bay Library, 2636 East 14 St
What: Learn to crochet and knit while making new friends, and creating masterpieces.
