7th Avenue Gets New Public Recycling Bins

7th Avenue Gets New Public Recycling Bins
New Recycling Bins On 7th Avenue

Have you seen the new public recycling bins that were installed recently along 7th Avenue? They’re some of the first newly redesigned public space recycling containers to be deployed in the city by the Department of Sanitation.

DSNY has a goal of adding 10,000 new recycling containers to the streets of the five boroughs by the end of 2014, which goes along with former Mayor Bloomberg’s aim for a 30 percent recycling rate in the city by 2017.

They say these new bins were designed to better blend into the streetscape, and to be more accessible, and shorter, to make them easier for children and seniors to use.

So what do you think? Do they work on the street, and will you use them?
